If you have to explain how it is pronounced, then it is a bad idea from the get go. "Anabel" or "Anabelle" are nice names, but "Anibell" looks like her parents did not know how to spell. There is a poem by Edgar Allen Poe called "Anabel Lee." Names don't have to be weird or spelled in bizarre ways in order to be cool. Misspelling a regular name does not suddenly make it cool, it makes it stupid. A cool name is one that sounds masculine for a man, flows together well, and will give the impression that he is sophisticated and successful. That is why the actor Archibald Leach changed his name to Cary Grant. Now that is a cool name. That's why Robert Zimmerman became Bob Dylan. A cool girls name is one that works for her as a child as well as when she is a grown and sophisticated woman hoping to land her first good job. Victoria Joy; Samantha Jane, Veronica, Lillian (Lily), Monica, Pamela, Dionne, Sydney, Francesca, Gabrielle. A cool name is one with class, not hyphens. Hyphenated names are unwieldy as surnames. Don't give kids hyphenated first names. Their lives will be hell when it comes to filling out the millions of forms we have to fill out these days.

here are some of the names for girls that i find unique and nice.
Keely, Kaelyn, Brooke, Hayden, Danielle

Brooke and Danielle are not as unique but I think they balance out the other names! My three daughters are named Emerson, Kaelyn, and Taylor.

You can stick a hyphen into any pair of names, try:
Tovah-Lee
Melissa-Beth
Mary -Alan
Billie-Jean
Jenna-Gwen

or
Selma-Lee
Oliviana (Olivia and Ana combined)
Ella-Nora
Kristy-Ann
Anna-Linda

Use a combination of family names to give it more personal meaning. Good luck to your cousin!
