It was generally seen as a color of the devil, of passion, of lust, and wrong doing in the sexual sense. But I think it's ok. When I would get my nails done I'd wear bright red polish, sometimes neon pink, all the time simply b/c it made me feel beautiful and more secure in my womanhood for some reason. If someone finds it vulgar, they're stuck in the past or it's just their personal preference. Heck, I wanted a red wedding dress. There's nothing wrong with red, no matter the shade.

I always thought red on a woman was very sexy. In my opinion long red nails look cheap and sleazy...not necessarily just red nails...Your question reminds me of a prostitute that came into a bar once when I was in there having a beer. She had extremely long nails and they were bright red. She had on a jet black wig and a mini skirt and fishnet stockings....she would have looked pretty good too had she not been 73. She looked absolutely ridiculous. I laughed my butt off for the longest time about that....And no, I didn't pay for her services....lol

Because the color is often worn by cheap and vulgar women as depicted in the movies and this, sort of, has been instilled in our minds - red means vulgarity and cheapness. I like to have my nails painted red, it brings out the fairness of my fingers.

Same reason we don't wear an evening gown to work. Rad nail polish or lipstick for that matter is very bright and it's hard to match it to day outfits and makeup. Wear anything that's poorly matched is a bad taste. Other than that - there is nothing wrong with it.

Old belief that women wearing red nail polish were considered tramps. Just one of those stupid old wive's tales. It really depends on what your religious denomination is as to what is thought about it. Styles change, or rather fads.
Red Nail polish is beautiful to me, especially on the toenails.

that's a colour that individuals seem at and picture approximately intercourse ,they continually have so its not your problem simply by fact once you place on those colorings you at the instant are not thinking approximately intercourse they're .Its not what you place on its the form you place on it. think of roughly while you're only wearing it and their people who thinks of the colour that way who's particularly a budget and vulgar ones. I say placed on regardless of colour you choose to get a layout with gentle and dark crimson at one time ,forget approximately them in the event that they don't basically like the station substitute the channel. meaning if it bothers them do not seem. artwork the reds female.

Maybe because red is a loud, bold color. And to be vulgar is to be offensively loud.. And to be loud is to be cheap in terms of our modern social behavior.
