Well, it depends on how you define job.
Almost all strippers are independent contractors and so are self-employed. They pay for the right to work at a strip club.
It is not necessarily a hobby, because a hobby is not something one does to bring in money but rather for the joy of doing it. If one enjoys one's job and would do it for free, then one's job is a hobby.
Being on stage one works for tips, like a street musician. But, that is generally to get a table or lap dance request for a customer which will have a set price, like a street musician getting asked to play a club.
It is more of a business and career than a job.

I'd say stripping is alifestyle.
But if you define a job as a task you do for moey, then stripping is a job.
A hobby you just do for fun.
Just about anything can be either a hobby or a job. What really matters is the motivation behind it; money or fun.
Anyway, I would like to meet the kinda girl who thinks her stripping is just a hobby. She sounds like a fun girl.

first off why wouldn't you try it?????? joke
it is honest , you don't have to depend on any one to help you,
pay your bills. it also helps some people attend school during the day, for some it is just a job and for others, for lack of a better word it is a hobby, { not because they enjoy it, but because they are in it to long to do anything else.}
some people think that there is an art to stripping, meaning the way you dance.
when you strip you sell thought of you or your body,
being a prostitute is actually selling your entire body even your soul, for some of the things they do. just to pay their bills.

It is a job if you are paid to do it. It is a hobby if you are not paid. Many college students with great bodies do this to get through college because it pays more than waiting tables.

Some young ladies need the money to support their cause. For them its a job. Some young ladies do it as a passing the time bit. What ever the reason it makes money. We can't judge them, we don't know the circumstances.

Depends entirely on your motivation. If it is done out of desperation than it is a job.if it is done for fun and profit that it is a hobby.
Anyone who feels the need to show off their body for $$$ has Two choices.Be a super model or be a stripper.
Anyone can be a stripper. But being a model takes years of hard work and hardship.Kinda like th difference between cooking for McDonalds and being a gourmet.Anyone can be a mcd's but being a gourmet takes talent.

I don't see your distinction, you say a job is a performance for an agreed amount of money. The strippers earn an agreed amount of $$ from the boss and and agreed amt of $$ for lap dances. So it;s a job. And it has tips.

It is a job because it takes a certain mentality and persona to do it. It pays the bills and not just anyone can do it. To actually make money off of it you have to have a body and you actually have to know how to dance.

ummm... i think that stripping and prostituting are both jobs because first of all people do those things to make money to live on... and also I have never heard anyone say that they stripped or prostituted because IT WAS FUN!!
your question is a pretty ignorant one
