I'm not sure that he did own land in Ohio, but it looks like he owned land on the Ohio River. I found a copy of the will of George Washington online. Here is the link to the schedule of property: http://gwpapers.virginia.edu/documents/will/property.html

Ohio wasn't officially made a state until 1803. Washington died in 1799. I think the land he owned was in Virginia.

Washington's land along the Ohio river and it's tributary, the Kanhawa, were in what is now West Virginia.

Accordint to the link you gave, one tract of land was located in what is now Cinncinnati.
