i actually don't like harry (or daniel radcliffe). i like sirius.

Harry Potter isn't a mega nerd! Have you even read the books (and that is different then watching the movies because they are A LOT different)?
And just because I read the books doesn't mean I like Harry (or any of the other characters for that matter), so this question is completly pointless.

Well, for one thing, he's not really a mega-nerd, he's actually kind of a slacker in school. For another thing, Harry's not actually my favorite character in the books (that's probably Hermione) although I do like him. Sooo, I would say you are generalizing. The books are good. Many more girls (it seems to me) are big readers. Therefore, you have many girl Harry Potter (book) fans.

We're drawn in by all of his angsty goodness.
It's not just the character Harry Potter. It's the books. They're titled Harry Potter. Almost everyone (girl readers) I know is truly obsessed with Draco or Snape, not Harry.
Daniel Radcliffe is a completely different story.
And he's not a nerd.

Because the majority of the girls who are reading Harry Potter books are some kind of nerd lol. I'm a fan but I just watch the movies I've yet to read a book.

Personally I don't find Harry the nerd of the trio, Hermonie is more of the nerd so it should be us females who are jealous right?

I'd say it's probably because he's sensitive and angst-ridden and filled with inner and outer drama, which most young girls are over-obsessed with. What? That was a sexist statement? Prove me wrong then. : )

Well, don't be so quick to lable him a nerd-- I don't see him as one. He has a great personality which is what matters.
