No P2P program is safe & never will be, P2P means your downloading from someone else computer if that computer has a virus so will you, limewire is use by a great many kids who do not know what a virus is, even if it jumped out the PC & gave them a kiss, even the best AV & antispyware program will not protect you, downloading only MP3 or not download .exe wont protect you - some of us have the knowledge to put a virus in any program we wish - you wont ever know until it is to late.

Don't download nothing under 1mb as it has a higher chance of containing a virus. Your more likely to be infected by spyware/trojans off the actual website than getting a virus by downloading anything.
So keep of the rogue P2P sites ,download Macafee site advisor free ,to warn you of sites that you have a high chance of getting spyware/trojans and also run a your anti-virus scan on anything you download.

If you're a smart person it's safe. The program doesn't come with any spyware or adware but if you download the files that say stuff like "Hilarious Prank!" you'll get a virus. Just be smart and don't download anything suspicious. Pretty much all the music files are safe.

If your PC has decent anti-virus software then u shouldn't have a problem with security.

However, Limewire does tend to contain a lot of hidden porn.

You could think u r downloading a film but when u come to play it it may not be exactly what ur looking for !!!!!!!!!

it is safe until you start downloading anything...nearly every single file that you download will contain a virus... if you have a very good anti-virus then that will pick up on everything that you download....

another thing about software like limewire is that it seriously slows down your computer...

The program itself is safe but a large number of the other computers it accesses when you search are LOADED with viruses and other malware. You need to be VERY careful with anything you download and get an antivirus program. The free ones are just as good as the ones you pay for, often better.
