OMG, not even close: Syracuse, by a mile. Syracuse is a highly respected university, and has excellent programs across the board, especially in communications and business. They are quite highly respected.
Seton Hall, on the other hand, is far less competitive in terms of academics. They aren't even on the same tier, rankings-wise. While there's nothing wrong with the school, it's just not even close to Syracuse in my mind.
If you like the feel of Seton Hall, but want something with stronger academics and a stronger rep, in that same geographic region, try Fordham. It may be a better fit.

It isn't even close -- Syracuse is a great university that is ranked #52 by US News. This is comparable to some of the better public universities (e.g., Maryland, Pitt, Florida, Ohio State) -- though behind the very best public universities (e.g., Berkeley, Michigan, Virginia, Georgia Tech).
Seton Hall, on the other hand, isn't really a very good university. It is a third tier university that is not particularly selective. The average student only got about 1000 on his SATs (verbal and math combined). The average student at Syracuse will outscore the average Seton Hall student by over 200 points on the SAT and by over a half point on their GPAs.

Seton what?
That's what the lady reading your job application is going to say when she throws it in the trash.
No I'm totally kidding.
But it is undeniably true. Better college=better opportunity's. Syracuse is just that.
But that's just me, and I'm biased. Do what ever makes you happy, and best of luck!
