Of course they can fall in love , They are normal people. They just act like robots in front of their patients so the patients dont mirror their emotions.
All the emotion comes from the patient thus helping to analyse the problems.

Of course they can. I know several psychiatrists who have wonderful wife's and husbands whom they love and who love them. I know a couple of psychologist who are partners with their gay lovers and all of these people have been married longer than ten years. Just because they don't show emotion to their patients doesn't mean that they can't. Most of them feel that it's not approbiate to show emotions with their patients.

Of course they can fall in love....and they are not all "damaged goods" wither....they are humans that have feelings and need/want love as well....
