I love brasil, but the best team currently is World Cup holder - Italy. However, I expect Brasil to put up a good showing in South Africa in 2010.

No. The best team in the World would not be a National team any way. The best Club sides would beat the best International side any day of the week.
Manchester United is the best team in the world but i would say that because and Man U fan.

Well if we go by facts the best team in the world overall in history is Brazil because they have 5 world cups, followed by Italy with 4 world cups, followed by germany with 3. If you go by who's the best right now then the facts are that Italy is the best because their the current world champions, followed by france because they were 2nd, followed by germany because they were 3rd.
Those are the facts and they can't be changed by anyone but if you go by opinions on who's the best in the world then pretty much you can say any country in the world and it will hold the same weight as any other persons opinion because its just an opinion and not based on FACTS...

Yes it is! They have the most world cups (five) and they currently on top of the FIFA Rankings! The last two times they played Argentina they beat them of a score by three goals to zero, and Argentina are a great team and they are second in the FIFA Rankings!
They have the most amazing and talented players in the world. Kaka, Ronaldinho, Robinho and Ronaldo are my favorites. Almost every player in the Brazilian squad plays for a top European Club!
Brazil play attacking, entertaining football and i thoroughly enjoy watching their matches!

I am Brazilian. And even being thus I can still answer non Biased that it IS simply based on the record. THough we had a poor proformance world cup we wown it more then any other country and hey look at at us now we won The South American cup. So I agree with you whole heartedly. Yes We're the best :)

One of them.. not the best... besides, if we go with records... Brazil only is first in the World Cups... but then if you check it out... Argentina has way more titles and cups than Brazil... check the Panamerican Cups, Copa America Cups, Copa Libertadores Cups, U-20 World Cups... check it out in Wikipedia or Answers... Argentina is top in all those Cups...
