It always seems that way.
I know that there are exceptions but according to some statistics I read ( I dunno if they are true ) but girls of lower income families tend to lose their virginities before wealthier girls and are most likely to become pregnant.
( And when I mean lower income families, I don't mean middle class... I mean really poor people in really rough areas ).

What is your opinion?

Yes,girls from a lower income groups particularly inner-city have at a younger age than there wealthier piers. There are a number of reasons for this.......
1. A poor girl with no hope of college is looking at motherhood as a source of happiness.
2. She comes from a messed up family, her mother had her at 15 so whats the big deal?
3.She is a rather dull or short sighted person who doesn't understand what motherhood really means.
4. As a way to trap what she perceives as a good man. Many of the fathers of these teen age mothers are in there 20's.

One possible reason is that a high percentage of people in deprived areas are from broken homes. This has a detrimental affect on children who are vulnerable. They often confuse love with sex and as a result of missing out on affection at home are more inclined to have sex at an earlier age in a mistaken attempt to feel loved.

In a stable household you will find this isn't the case. In a situation where both parents are at home and make time for their children this situation rarely occurs.

If you check the stats for teenage pregnancies from one parent families whether affluent or poor I think you may find there is little to separate the statistics. This will generally be because both parents either work long hours or start a new relationship. This results in the children missing out on a vital bond with their parents. Children need love and afection and when it isn't forthcoming they will seek it in the wrong places.

I think you will see further issues in the next few years caused by the fact that both parents in middle class households now work. This gives little time for families and the parents have a huge misconception that they can buy their childrens love and respect. This is not true. If you chat to children you will find that they would happily sacrifice material goods for a relationship with their parents.

If your question was: Why do teenage girls have low income families after pregnancy? The average teenage girl who becomes pregnant loses school time while in the hospital, is required to take care of their child, and will often drop out of school because of it. Their partner often is the one who got them pregnant, and will often drop out of school to have sufficient funds to take care of child support. This combination of lack of schooling and early employment in a low-paying job contributes to the low income of their families. Or: Why do teenage girls who become pregnant often come from low income families? This is a part of the low-income mentality, people want things, and they can't buy them due to the low income. But a having a baby to love is practically free, right? Wrong. A child takes up time and money in ridiculous amounts of both.

Well I think that it all depends on the upbringing of the girl. Your family can bring in minimum wages but that doesn't mean that they aren't good parents. It does seem that most low income families have to deal with teen pregnancy more than the wealthy because they can't afford abortions (not trying to offend anyone). Maybe it's because of their surroundings. Low income neighborhoods aren't all peaches and cream you know

I'm not sure if this is always the case but i think it might have something to do with lower income families not having the funds to be able to let their kids do activities that stops them hanging around the streets being bored. so i am guessing that it is a higher rate of pregnancy in this bracket.

Statistically, yes, although there are LOTS of middle or upper class girls also getting pregnant. But getting pregnant or not might not have much to do just with losing virginity younger, but also to do with attitudes toward unwed pregnancy and toward birth control.

The ones from higher income families tend to have abortions. I know many girls from higher income families to fall pregnant. Their families seem more likely to persuade them to abort. Just something I have noticed.

I am in Tunbridge Wells in Kent, a very upper middle class area.
We have the biggest concentration of single parents in the country, so it is not the lower income folks who are gymslip mothers.

That's statistically true. It may be due to a lack of self esteem or parental guidance, two things people sometimes lack in extreme situations.
