Yes, the smell is quite distinctive, though it's hard to describe.
The smell of *fresh* blood is somewhat faint, rather like(go figure,) fresh meat. After it sits in the open for a while, the smell becomes really quite indescribable......... The only way to experience it is to go visit a slaughterhouse, for example....

Blood does have a certain smell, though we are not as good as animals at smelling blood, you probably would be able to smell old blood.

Fresh blood u cannot smell . Dead blood is what is called the smell of death.

Blood has a very distint odor to it - metallic almost. You may not be able to smell a drop or two, but in large quantities -- it does smell.

yes we can. it smells metallic, like iron.
while the blood is inside us, we cannot smell it. it is only once the blood is in the air. once you smell it, you will never forget that smell.
