No!!!!!!!!! That is incredibly cruel thing to do! The fish would be suffering horribly and would probably take awhile to die a slow and painful death. You really don't want to do that to a fish, do you? Gathering that they are floating on their side and unable to swim properly I would assume they have the swim bladder disorder. To cure this, simply take a pea and take it out of its shell, then cut it up if necessary and feed it to the fish. If you ever have to ever dispose of a fish, the most humane way is with clove oil and vodka. Here is the link

do no longer flush him except he's ineffective. maximum fish proceed to exist the holiday into the sewer and die of poisonous poisoning and chemical burns... it is not any thank you to die. feels like he has swim bladder affliction. My betta had it too, attempt no longer feeding him for some days, then giving him some peas, if constipation is the reason then he might desire to be extra suitable interior of a week. determine his tank is incredibly sparkling, use a gravel vac and confirm each and every little thing is o.k.. i could additionally propose including some conditioner and/or tension coat to the tank, it is going to help calm him down. even if he looks incredibly sick and ineffective-like, he incredibly isn't that bothered (assuming that's SBD) i could empty the tank to make it in step with hazard one million/3 finished... this form its much less complicated for him to get around. he would be waiting to swim alongside the floor, and nonetheless get to the floor. For now you in basic terms choose for him gentle till he's extra suitable. I blamed my bettas SBD on his age too... yet when I found out extra approximately it, and tried all varieties of issues to handle it, i've got had him over a year longer now and totally recovered :)

Don't kill it unnecessarily. Feed the pea the way people have recommended, and add a small amount of salt to the tank (the rule is one tablespoon of non-iodized, like plain or Kosher) salt per five gallons of water. If your fish rights itself, feed a high-quality food like Pro-Gold, available from http://www.goldfishconnection.com .

I think you should kill it properly if you want to flush it. Put it in a plastic bag and freeze it then put it in the garden or something. Your fish is dieing because there is air in it's stomach.

Try thawing a few frozen peas, removing the outter skin and putting the rest of the pea into the water. Seems to work wonders.

Jeez people sure get fired up about goldfish around here don't they. Give the tank a good clean, give it a little food and then leave it till tomorrow, he'll either be dead or better. Go buy a new one.
