That no widely accepted black holes have ever been detected!!!...How about a good guess lol.When matters forced in to a exited state it gives off eletromagnetic energy and some of this is your light.This happens when elecrtons change orbits.I think its known as the quantum leap.the stomger the matters bond the more energy required to leap.I think blackholes are so dense that gravity wins and forces quantum energy into a primal state and is absorbed.Like the unified field idea..

Light is made up of photons, not protons. Photons are massless.
The Northern Lights are not caused by the earth's magnetic field affecting photons, you dimwit. Photons are chargeless and so are not deflected by magnetic force.
