Because you can see the stars and know they are stars. But, when someone says theres wet paint you cant be sure.

Because the paint is something you can check.... it is not possible to count all of the stars or people probably would try.

because you want to see if it has dried yet or of it is still wet......
as for the billion stars i am too lazy to count them so it is easier to just accept that than to disprove it...
