I've somehow managed to drive over some paint which has obviously got all over my tyres and the rear of my car. Its a new car and this doesn't look too attractive. Anyone got any ideas of how to get the paint off my car without messing up the car's original paintwork?

This wasn't bright yellow paint in east Sussex today was it? If so, did the very same thing ...... but a little spirit on a damp rag eased it off a treat ...wash down afterwards and buff up with a tad of polish.

It depends what sort of paint it is, if it is house paint then it will not off had a good hold as your car was not prepared for that so maybe a lot of water such as a high pressure jet may do it, as for the tyre you could put the spare on while you wash the original and then put that one in the boot

As for the bodywork, many people have already given you things to try, so I won't re-hash them but please do NOT take the young ladies advice above who recommends putting paint thinners on your tyres. Let it wear off the tyres as you use the car and if there is some on the side wall, it should come off fairly easily with some elbow grease and some proprietary tyre wall cleaner.

Try turps from your local DIY shop. It should not harm the original paintwork but should fetch the spashes off, assuming its ordinary household paint you have got on your car.

well the only way to do it right is to take it to a paint shop . maybe they can buff that paint right off your new car and bring your car back to a newlike finish

If the paint has dried use some polishing compound or very fine grit sand paper. On the tires and wheels just pour paint thinner on them.

if it is latex, scrub it off with a brush., tires will wear it off bottom, so save your self the work. side walls? try sidewall cleaner , if it is oil based, contact your local auto parts store i bet they have something. other then that try opps you get it at places like walmart or lowes.

WD40 and a soft cloth. It will take a little elbow grease but it will come off.
