you need to be old enough to deal with all the possible consequences of having sex. Such as pregnancy (it happens even with birth control) such as diseases (they happen even with condoms) such as the emotional involvement (don't you want the man you plan to spend your life with to have the first opportunity to deflower you?) In other words, old enough to know better but able to deal with whatever happens as a result.

Old enough to understand consequences like pregancy, stds etc not too young 1-17 I would say is too young you havent understood life yet and at that time it may seem like you're in love but you probably haven't been with enough ppl to know what love is Always make sure that you are safe with a condom etc.and make sure that you are doing it for the right reasons not because you are tired of being a virgin but for love if you want you could save it for marriage but there is not really any particular age I woould recommend 18 19ish Why am I giving advice if I'm still a 13 year old virgin? lol but thats what I think

you can be any age you think you're ready for it. just know that with sex comes emotional rollercoasters and with the world as it is now, STD's seems to have become an epidemic. it'd be best to wait until you're with someone who you care about deeply because losing your virginity is a big deal. once it's gone, it can never be returned. giving it away to the first tom or mark who comes by would be a big mistake and would probably end up hurting you. of course there is always the fear of getting pregnant. condoms and birth control combined still leaves a chance of you having a baby so make sure you are ready for that. if i were you, i'd just wait until marriage, then you are able to spend the most intimate parts of you with the one you love for the first time. in a nutshell... you should have sex whenever you are ready, but know all of the risks, even if that means you wait until marriage.

I don't think it's about age. It's about when you get married. I know, "Everybody's doing it." But, then again aren't like 30-40% of teen girls pregnant right now, too? I know what peer pressure feels like.. but, face the facts. Just because "everybody's doing it", does that really mean you should? Everybody loses their virginity wayy to early these days. And no, I'm not some 40 year old mom on here preaching to everyone.. I'm 15. I understand the pressures.. But I also understand the fact that I don't want to give my virginity to some guy who I probably won't be with for long.. and I know that I don't want STD's or a BABY right now, either. Save it for the honeymoon, just as I've chosen to.. I'm sure you won't regret it.

Old enough to understand that sex is complicated, old enough to be able to deal with the emotions that sex brings along, old enough to accept and deal with the consequences that sex brings (good or bad).

I personally think that high schoolers having sex is stupid. They're risking far too much when they're not emotionally mature and their futures are too uncertain and full of too much potential to be toyed with like that.
