Attacks come and go. It's possible for another one but I'm not sitting around waiting for it. And I refuse to plastic wrap and duct tape my house!

no, it's called being aware of your surroundings and not having the attitude that it cannot happen to you... cause on 9/11/01... it did. people were saying the same thing prior. i refuse to be that ignorant again.

i keep hearing the "boy that cried wolf" comparison.. that's such BS... i mean, all the government is doing is giving the public info from the data they collect... they have people listening and watching terrorist chatter... if something horrible like 9/11 happened again and there weren't all these warnings.. the Libs would be screaming at the top of their lungs that Bush didn't do enough to let the american people know about it and claim that his administration is full of deceit... lol... tis true, tis true.

if the news said a murderer was loose on your streets in your neighborhood... you'd be sure as heck to pay attention to suspicious activities and suspicious people.. what's the freakin' difference???????????

Yes and no. Someday, yes, Republicans or no Republicans, we will be attacked by terrorists again. In that sense, I believe them. That's life. But no, the warnings do not help and the fact that terrorists may attack should have no impact on your every day life, or even which party you vote for, as they all are pretty clueless. Take 9/11, for example. Everyone knew that it was possible, but what can you do? Do we really think that who was President or who controlled Congress really would have changed anything? Ultimately, that is what they want you to believe, and that is the real reason for the useless warnings. In reality, however, the warnings do not really serve any practical purpose.

Since the latest videos are made by Ayman Al Zawahri and shown in Europe as well as here in the USA I do not think that the "warnings" are made up by American politicians, Republican or otherwise.
My relatives live in Europe and I travel there often. I always make a point to watch their news and Al Jazeera when in London

Yes they are terrorizing us more than the terrorists. What we need is to invest our money in defense. By defense I mean intelligence to prevent terrorist attacks. Bush and many of his republican supporters would rather go on the offense and kill every terrorist in the world. Good luck with that one. We need to focus on our country. Stop wasting tax payer dollars on a war that we will not win. It is hopeless when most of the time we don't know who our enemy is. Defend our country by using intelligence to prevent attacks. In the end, Bush is only creating more terrorists by leading this war. There are so many issues we need to really worry about like employment, social security, healthcare, education, energy sources, etc.

Just like you want us to live in continual fear of the change in climate. Global warming is simply the leftists terrorism.

I'm not fearful, I would just rather be safe than sorry! Besides wouldn't you be the first one to gripe if our government said nothing and then something happened?

The only national Republicans that I trust at all are Powell and Patreaus. Gates hasn't burned his credibility with me yet either.. but I haven't followed him enough for him to have earned a lot of respect yet.

No they don't want us to live in fear. They want us to be vigilant.
If you see something suspicious, report it.
There are no insane warnings, some threats are real, some threats are empty with no action. It's better to be safe than sorry.

I'll start off with the fact that terrorists are real and the terrorists of the islamic variety pose the greatests threat.

HOWEVER, yes, the Bush Chenney camp wants our attention well focused on a subject that creates fear in the general population. It is an old and proven tactic for controling the actions of a voting puplic.

So, to answer your question, the fear mongering of the Bush Chenny camp has a purpose. That purpose is to control us in a manner very similar to that used by Hitler as he was coming into power in Germany.

Fear factor that is what keeps the sheeple together because thats the only support Dubya has left. If he loses his remaining 29% or so sheeple support, he's doomed.
