Werewolf information please?

Question

I'm writing an essay about werewolves and the potential fact that werewolves DO exist. And one of the sections of the essay is about killing werewolves or defending against werewolf attacks. Any information would be deeply appreciated (please don't send a wikipedia link, I've already done quite a bit of research from there)

How could you be defended against a werewolf attack would take some very old magic that still exist but very, very hard to find... To kill a werewolf wuld take a weapon made out of any of the base metal like iron,steel, Etc..... A werewolf is not a supernatural creature but a paranormal creature that can be killed with a knife made out of iron etc...... There is no record of the effects that allumun, or copper would have... But Iron and all iron products would kill them silver or gold was added to the list but only because it belonged to the base metal group.......................................................

Wolfs bane planted around your house is one protection from Lupus Homo Erectus, Silver weapons are the only known method of killing a true werewolf, couldn't imagine how one would go about trying to cut ones head off?

The only one that I know for sure is that a silver bullet will kill a werewolf. I have heard that cutting off their heads will kill them as well. I've never heard of anything that will repel them to protect you, as a cross would for a vampire. Hope this helps.
