Just listen to everyone complaining about high gas prices. A complaint of high gas price is basically a vote to secure the oil supply line. Bush is basically facilitating this drive; however, he might be under the impression that Iraq represents the world's last significant oil field that does not require heavy investment to extract (i.e. the last of the 'low-hanging fruit' oil fields.) Sad to say, but all these alternate energies are really just drops in the bucket right now...our civilization still very much oil-based.

Interesting. And yet states like Illinois, Michigan, Ohio and several other 'northern' states have unemployment rates close to 20 percent. Here in Virginia we're well blow the national average. Hmmm...must just be Reuters doing what they do best, towing the liberal line. And what does any of this have to do with anything Bush did or any specific 'economic policy'? Face it. This is Barry's recession now! It is Barry's economic policy. But on a side note, who do you think is going to pay the price of Obama's presidency? Could it be the folks in New York and California where the tax rates are projected to be 60%? Hey, unemployment is not a permanent condition, but taxes? Once they go up, they rarely come down. Think about it.

Bush and Chenny hate Iraq more than anything else. Thier concern for the United States is less than secondary to them.

If they felt that congress would allow for unlimited action and spending in Iraq, then they would reinstate the draft and escalate the war enough to place a full company of troops on every street corner of every city in Iraq.

Iraq has the largest untapped oil reserves remaining in the world.

The Iraq invasion and subsequent instability in the Persian Gulf has scared oil speculators into increasing the price above $70/bbl.

The oil companies are posting multi-billion quarterly profits.

The Bush and Cheney families are heavily invested in the oil business.

Any more questions?

Iraq is in America's interest (that is, oil). Thats why Bush is wasting billions of dollars there.

Bush is a dictator who loves power. He certainly does not love America since he doesn't seem to give a hoot what happens to the American soldiers or how many lives he's endangered.

Most of the money spent on Iraq never left the country.

What gave you the idea Bush loves America, or cares about Americans? It is painfully obvious that he doesn't.

Not as long as it is for a foreign country that has oil.
Kuwait is owned by the Bushes and that is where there oil is.
So what they are doing is protecting their own interests.

Bush doesn't love America. He only loves what America can do for him.
