Put it back and leave it alone. It's a wild animal that's its habitat. (don't feed it any milk either).
Why the thumbs down morons, it's the correct thing to do !!

I had the same problem a while ago.
Is it wandering around in circles, bashing into things etc? as though its blind?
If it is, it means its a very VERY young hedgehog.
The best thing to do is ring the RSPCA.
Go and pick it up, put it in a cardboard box lined with grass and leaves etc, and leave a dish of water and some scrambled eggs in it.
Thats the advice i was given by the RSPCA before im questioned.
But if it hasnt been there for long, best to leave it.
If its been there for ages, as in a whole day, then follow the above.
hope this helps! :)

I think it highly unlikely that your cats will harm the hedgehogs as at the first sign of danger they curl into a ball, and with their spines being very sharp it would be painful for your cats if they tried to attack them, I hope you can keep them in your garden as they really do keep the slug population down ,and they are lovely little creatures, but if you feel the babies are vulnerable because they are so small you can phone the hedgehog trust to ask for their advice, Good Luck x

Someone would "call the professionals", can't see Bodie & Doyle knowing much about hedgehogs.
Me, I'd put the little mite back for mummy hedgehog to find it. Being a parent myself, she obvioulsy got sick of the bleeding thing under her feet during the holidays and told it to piss off for half an hour.

Ohh cultivate it!! They eat all the nasties for you.
Make sure water and some cat food is out for him at night in the same place and he will keep on coming back.
Incidentally, if you see him during the day, chances are he's not very well :(
