There was a study done with rams where an a straight ram's brain and a gay male's brain was studied.

The straight ram's part of the brain, known as the hypothalamus, the controller of sex hormones, was twice the size of every gay ram. The gay ram's and straight female sheep had practically the same size hypothalamus section.

The scientist Levay did something similar the study of brains in humans and found that most straight men had a significantly larger cell cluster in that section of the brain then gay men.

Most who believe in this study that this affects the hormone release and could affect who a person is attracted to.

gay is a behavioral outcome where one is sexually attracted to people of the same sex. You can not be "born" with this behavior but certain genes make it more likely that you will turn out to be gay. Twin studies have definitely shown that homosexuality is highly hereditary especially in men.

The important thing to remember is that the whole nature verse nurture (genes versus environment) is not a conflict of no choice versus choice. Just because homosexuality has an environmental component does not mean that one has the choice regarding sexuality. Neuroplasticity (ability of brain to wire itself) varies with age and by the time you hit puberty the dye is usually cast: straight, gay, or bisexual. I am straight and I can never recall consciously choosing this.

ok you might recall from biology, or not i have no clue how old you really are, that males posses the XY cromosome and females posses the XX chromosome i believe that homosexuall people are born with an XY chromosome where the Y (in males) has alittle tail that makes the Y close to an X
vice versa for females
i am gay also and i cant explain how we have an infatuation with the same sex, it could be that we are just more atracted to the pheramones that our sex produses. i hope this helps any more questions e-mail me at jasongbailey2007@yahoo.com and i will try my best to help

Well, just like you were born straight. You are attracted to the opposite sex because thats how you were born. Gay people are just born with the opposite feelings. Its most likely genetic. There have been several studies that show other correlations in genetic make up and homosexuality. You and I were born straight, they weren't.

I believe no one is born gay, but in early child development, the child is exposed to different type of people and things. And the what happens at a young age causes the child to feel different about the opposite sex.
I 'am bi-sexual and when i was younger like 7 or 8 i used to look at girls and guys and didn't know which one was for me. but now i'm happy married to a man and love it. But i look at girls every once and a while.

Unfortunately, it's something we may never understand. It has to do with an aspect of the brain that science can't decipher yet. It's the same concept behind why I hate the feeling of zero g's on a rollercoaster and others love them. Theres just no way to explain it.

There are many theories in relation to this. The most popular is that it is due to exposure to a certain hormone while a fetus. I don't try to understand it because it is not important how. All that matters is that I was born like this and am perfectly happy.

theyre not. if they were they there would be a test for gayness and i would like to see everyone who claims to be gay take that test. HOWEVER this being said of course they are researching it and I have a friend that forwarded an interesting article about male homosexuality but it's very dry and worded with a lot of insider medical terminology that i can barely decipher.
