for all those who just can't seem to figure this out....Marbury is not a point guard. he's a 2 guard in a pg body. he's too small to play the 2 in the NBA, but because of his handling, he's naturally assumed to be a point.
Nash, for the last 3 seasons has played the point position better than Starbury, but i still think Starbury is better. remember in Marbury's last year in Phoenix, he almost got the Suns (with Amare and Joe Johnson both in rookie seasons) passed San Antonio (who went on to beat NJ for the title)....but as usual...Mr Matrix disappeared when they needed him most and the Suns fell flat.
Marbury is better, and 1 on 1 he would whoop Steve Nash 21-12. He's too strong in that scenario.

in a one on one marbury would probably win. but people say nash is better because basketball isnt a one on one game. they are both point guards but different kinds. starbury is the classic shooting, scoring point guard. he's no where near the passer that nash is. he is far more athletic than nash though. nash on the other hand is the classic distributing PG. he has the best court vision in the league right now and he's a better shooter by percentage than starbury. mainly because he has a much better sense of shot selection. starbury is a selfish, me first player with all kinds of athletic gifts but no where near the understanding of the game that nash has. also and this may be the most important, there is no other player in the league who rasies the game of his teammates as much as nash. marbury on the other hand doesnt make his teammates better at all. its not even close to me. if basketball was a 1 on 1 game then marbury all the way but since it isnt its an easy choice, nash is considerably better.

Marbury is more of a scorer than Nash so in a 1 on 1 game, he should win easily. Nash's strength comes from his passing ability and in a duel like this, it will be his inability to score consistently that will be his own undoing. Plus, Nash isn't really a good defender. Starbury has a variety of moves and drives that will leave the 2 time MVP in the dust scratching his head.

I would say Marbury one on one because Steve Nash is more of team player and is passer more of a scorer. Marbury looks to score first and then past. Both are great players but one on one i would marbury will win but in the game 5 on 5 nash will win

Marbury is a better one on one scorer and would probably win one on one, but Nash is better. He makes his teams better. Marbury has never elevated a team. Nash has. True Nash has more help around him, but he also has better court vision and he makes the plays that his teams need him to make. Marbury never has. I do love his cheap shoes, and his plans to chill in Italy when his contract runs out though.

Nash is a better point guard. He knows point guards pass the ball. Marbury is just a ball hog.
1 on 1 Marbury would school Nash. He is stronger, faster, and a better scorer.

1 on 1 marbury would probably over power nash, but as far as better player in the NBA nash pummels marbury no question. He makes players around him better and is a clutch shooter.
