No. The big concern is if they aren't eating enough. Your child knows best what his body needs. He may just be going through a growth spurt. They are supposed to gain weight rapidly at this age. The weight gain (and the eating!) will slow down as he gets older and more mobile. You should never, ever limit how much you feed an infant. Take care.

My dr would say every 2 hours is way too much but you know your baby! I would do what you think is best for him. If you are concerned talk to the babies dr. He/she might be able to give you some good advice. My daughter eats every 4 hours and usually eats about 6 ounces during the day and about 7.5 before bed.

Actually babies are not born knowing how to overeat. They are taught that when parents give them comfort feedings.... not say that you are, but be very careful about it. At 3 months old a baby should be eating more like every 3 or even 4 hours. If he uses one, give him a binky after 2 hours has passed when he seems to be hungry and hold off the bottle until he is good and ready. Personally I wouldn't give him a bottle until 3 hours (6oz). But not all babies are the same... talk to your doctor or WIC nurse if you are unsure.

They know when they are hungry. My son will go through a few days like that and then not eat a lot at all one day. He was 18lbs at 4 months. He is a big baby, but there's nothing wrong with that.
Now that he is eating solids, he about 3 9oz bottles and usually one smaller one....so it does slow down. I remember feeling like I was in the house all day just feeding him!

No, he is not overeating. Children know when to stop and do not overeat at this age. Anyway at a year, children's appetites decrease dramatically due to the fact that they are not growing that fast. So, he will not always eat alot. Just like adults, some days children eat more than others. So, don't stop worrying, relax, and enjoy your little man!!!!

I always say feed on demand! If he wants it then feed him. Most doctors will tell you the same. He will get plump, but that's only natural for a baby and they thin out as they become more active like when they crawl or start rolling over. Then when they reach toddler stage they completely go narrow.

..Babies like this don't overeat...they eat when they're hungry. He will go through times when he eats less, and other times he can't get enough, because he's in a growth spurt. Unlike adults, who eat because we're bored or upset...your baby is filling his body's nutritional needs. When he's five and won't lay off the potato chips, then you've got to step in. Right now, it's all good!
