For those who said Michael Jordan would need Scottie Pippen to lock down Kobe to even stop KB24, first off, Jordan has a Defensive Player of the Year award on his resume while Scottie Pippen has not won it even once. So who was the better defensive player? Michael Jordan without a doubt. MJ has shut down great scorers in the past like Clyde Drexler, Joe Dumars, John Starks, Kendall Gill, Reggie Miller just to name a few. Name one great scorer that Kobe has shut down? Jordan was not a just a great athlete but he was also a smart player. In a game of 1 on 1, MJ will give Kobe a couple of easy shots in the beginning while he figures out his game, what moves he likes to use, and what directions he feels comfortable driving or shooting. Once Jordan has Kobe figured out (which he will), he will shut down the Laker guard's game entirely. Kobe won't be able to stop Michael because he's not that great of a defensive player like he is made out to be. MJ has too many weapons on offense like the fadeaway (which Kobe stole from him), the post up game, the drive to the hole and dunk, and his famous drive and pull on the breaks shot that he is famous for killing so many great defenders. Let's not forget that MJ has a better overall career field goal percentage than Kobe and he achieved that without the presence of a Hall of Fame center. So to answer your question, in a game of 15 by 1's, I'd say Michael Jordan would win 15 - 6 with ease.

Both of them are really good players but come on MJ is a legend. Although both of them had partners to help them. Kobe had Shaq and MJ had pippen but at the end we can see how Michael Jordan is the better athlete and he is the one that put the better show.

Right now. I'd say Kobe but if it was during their prime then I'll give it to MJ. This is certainly a dream match for everyone because they're both so good.

it's very hard to say.I think MJ would win because MJ is very quick player pretty like dwayne wade but with an unstoppable mid-range jumpshot. There's no way Kobe can defend him.Kobe's most important specialty is that killer instinct. He doesn't do the things scorers do very perfectly but MJ's offensive force is almost perfect.(Just think what would happen if his 3 point percent was near %40)

Jordan all the way! Micheal Jordan is a legend and he has so much talent. If you are talking about playing right now than Kobe will probablly win and everyone knows it. If it was a game with them in their primes, well thats a different story! Jordan would win that match with ease! Kobe will probablly became a legend but you never know what can happen.

MJ is the original Don of perfectionism on the court. It would be a great match up but jordan would ultimately take over and out play kobe.

if we're saying they are both in their prime, i would pick MJ. it would be close because both guys have the killer instinct and a huge amount of competitiveness, but in my years of watching basketball no one had more of that than MJ. so you'd have to figure MJ would take it personally and wouldnt want to lose. I also think he's a better defender than kobe, slightly so i'd gve him the nod for that reason too.

Kobe would beat MJ if both are in their primes. Kobe would lock down MJ. MJ would need Pippen to lock down Kobe. It would be close but Kobe would win. Kobe has more talent. MJ was more successful.

Why people repeat the same questions. I answered this question all the time on yahoo answers.
Jordon when he was young and his prime. Jordon. Jordon toward his older days and kobe in his beginning of his prime, I would say Kobe.
Jordon is a better player.
I am a huge Kobe Bryant fan
