Jonathon, I will tell you a big secret: All guys do this sooner or later, but usually it is a quick glance. Guys are forever comparing each other. Some guys just have not mastered the look and turn the other way maneuver.
To constantly stare at another male in the showers though is considered rude.

It's totally normal (unless you do it for a long time.) When I was a Girl Scout camp, we changes all together I would glance at peoples breasts, or private area but I didn't do it everytime because it's rude to stare. And I know some of the others girls probably glanced at me too.

hmm, interesting.
According to doctor freud, Males tend to be more preocupied with the penis size than thier faces.
If people look in the shower, its only cuz they are curious. Most guys dont mind as long as you are not staring down at it as if you are going to bite it. Its normal as long as you are not sexually aroused by it.
Rule of thumb: Dont look.

Not to stare, but certainly to look at and compare, and yeah if you and the others are openly comparing, then of course it is fine to look at each other. If a guy says -- look how big I am-- then he is openly inviting a look. If he is just in the shower and you are next to him, sure you will probably see his equip, but it looks just like yours anyway so what is the big deal. If you are talkers in the shower, you will look at each other.

Yes it is normal to be curious about the human body. it is normal to compare yourself with others. The guys on here stating otherwsie are not really being honest.
And the 'rule guys' (three seconds and nod, no looking below the shoulders, etc....) okay that is sooooo much thought you have GOT to be gay and hiding.

That stare may not be what you think.
It could be:
-Staring, but not focusing: He's thinking, but not controlling his eyes. It happens. Like when you drool from thinking. It's natural.
-He's wondering why your thing is small/big/deformed, or
-He's curious...if ya know what I mean.
Don't worry. Just ask him. In private, though.
Don't stand in the shower, spouting,
"Hey, f*g, stop staring at my d*ck!"
It's ignorant and unnecessary.

every guy goes through this (even though they dont admit it) but they go through the phase when they think they are gay.... so you might just be curious..like the person said a few answers b4 me, you might be looking but might not be focusing on it...like when your day dreaming you dont know what your looking at untill you sanp out of it...like this one time i was thinking of something and i was looking right at some chicks breasts and she saw and she smiled and now we are talking! lmao

absolutely not. there should be no eye contact below the shoulders when in the shower. if your eyes meet for more than 3 seconds, nod and look away.

Try not to look.
It's basically the same as urinal rules.
Just make SURE that no one realizes that you're looking at them.
