Cece,

Just use a dry erase marker. color over it good and then wipe it. If there's any remnant, do it again. 1 or two times and it will be gone. I've used that trick for a long time with sharpies. It works! Definitely don't use thinners or acetone. Bad for your helmet! And do disregard the fellow who doesn't like helmets. You'll be the one to maybe walk away from an accident without being a vegetable. Helmets do work! :)

Magic Erasers... you can find them in the household cleaning isle at your local store...

They are made from the brand with the big bald guy...

The get rid of everything... I once had a kid (2 years old) in my class who had a pink sharpie marker and doodles on the floor, the walls and the tables... The magic erasers took care of all the mess!

I discovered that dry-erase markers have a common solvent with Sharpie ink. In many cases, if you use a dry-erase marker to color over a Sharpie mark, they'll both come off.

Don't use solvents!
And really don't use nail polish remover. Acetone (main ingredient in most) EATS plastic. Badly.

Try daanzig.
Be very wary of putting any thinners or solvents on your hat. They could weaken it.
Rinse it afterwards, whatever you do!
