I would check with a lawyer first. Especially if the father has visitation rights.

You can leave and go anywhere with your child as long as you have total custody of your child. The father may contest and then you may have a battle on your hands but till then, you can go where ever you choose. He can't do anything. But I'm not a lawyer so to make you feel sure, call one and ask the laws for Missouri. Then you'll know for sure. It costs nothing!!

Check with a lawyer. Do you have a custody or visitation agreement of any kind? If so, it should state what you can & can't do. If you don't follow the custody agreement, you can be held in contempt of court. The father could bring you to court & request a change of custody, based on the fact that you are unwilling to co-parent properly with him (the move would be proof of that).

If I were in your position I would live my life as I see fit . If he happens to pay child support regularly and also cares enough to show up for visits on a somewhat regular scale, then I think he deserves the courtesy of some input .
If none of this is a fact then do your own thing and look for a better life . You certainly deserve it, being a single mom is hard enough without having a ball and chain hanging on you .
Good Luck .

If your child's father has visitation or partial custody the answer is not without his permission. Check with your court papers it states what you can an can't do right in there.

It depends. Were you married to the father?
In Arkansas, it doesn't matter if you have custody of the child, taking that child away from visiting his parent is grounds for custody change.
Believe me, it's happened to me. I left Arkansas with my children, who I had custody of, because my ex's were both very bad men. One beat my eldest and the other was a drug addict. They got custody of the kids. It was the worst thing that's ever happened to me.
AND No, I wasn't a bad mom!!! I even had proof of the addiction and abuse.
But then it could have just been the judge.

sure, but, were you ever married to the father? what does the divorce decree say if so...? if never married...sure, move to whatever state you want =)...have a good trip and good luck! of course if he has visitation that will change some but sure you can move! if you were never married you automatically have full custody...

if paterninty has not been established, yes - but bear in mind, he can still try to stop you by going to court and petitioning fora dna test and custody.
I suggest you do this the right way any discuss it with the father of your child, he has a right to be a parent, regardless if you were married or not.

Yes, but you should file for sole custody of your child first.
