Does anyone like the name Lennox for a girl? My mother in law is adamant that my daughter's name be Lennox Janae- I like it but I wanted to know how the public feels about it. What can kids say about her name in school? I can't think of anything negative....

It's not bad. And I personally think that the nicknames Lenny or Len are cute for a girl. As for anything negative kids could say about her, if she gets the nickname Len then they MIGHT call her Len the Ox. Stupid, I know, but kids CAN be too!!!

Yuck. What is with the "typical last name for a first name" trend that is going around right now? I'd just as soon name my girl Smith or Jones than Lennox.
In any case, ANY name can be used by school kids. Loony Lennox, Lemony Lennox, Lennox Maalox... or they'll just call her Lenny, or ask if she was named after boxer Lennox Lewis. I assure you there is not a single name out there that a creative kid can't turn into a joke, so I wouldn't worry about that too much.

Why is your mother in law choosing your babys name??? Is this a family name that is important too her. Lennox is a common english surname (the earl of Lennox) and also a famous brand of china. Its different, not horrible, but if you don't like it, pick something else.

u dont have to choose ur daughters name based on what ur mother in law wants. she will love the child no matter what u name her. i dont like lennox, how about lennie? thats kinda cute for a girl. and id ont like janae either, how about janet?

the only thing i can think of that they could call her is lenny, but that's not that bad, i call my friend Elena lenny sometimes. um, maybe Lennox Nicole? my favorite name is Lydia Nicole. i just fell in love with it. hope this helps.

I think it's very cute, but I would spell it like this....Lennyxe.
Nobody liked my daughters name when I picked it out. Now, it fits her personality perfectly. You should choose what you like, and that name doesn't really have any bad aftermaths like ( matty fatty) or anything. It's different and adorable. The middle name goes with it fine too! and Congrats on your new baby!
