If this is the Epson Stylus Colour 600 then I'm afraid that you've come upon the same problem as me. This version of the Epson printer seems to have a problem in that after around 2 years or so the print tubes and pump clog up and theres not much you can do to clean them out. By the time this happens the printer is out of warranty. I took mine to a repair shop, checked out the web, tried cleaning cartidges, everything. They said - very honestly - that they would charge £50 to clean it. they couldnt guarantee that it would then work and that, even if it did, it would be worth less than £50! And basically the answer was to throw it away and buy a new one. My repair shop said that this was a problem with that vintage of printer but that it doesnt seem to happen with later models. I got fed up, went and bought an HP multi-function printer instead. It was expensive but great so far. Last time I buy an Epson (having bought them since the 80s).

You should definitely try clearing the ink jet nozzles first, and you can also buy head cleaning cartridges. I tried both and it didnt help at all. If I'm right you'd just be wasting your time. Sorry.

Actually, with Epson printers, the print heads are situated in the printer itself, rather than on the cartridges as with some other printers. This means that once they've worn out it would be cheaper to buy a new printer rather than buy new print heads.

I'm afraid it looks like it might be time for you to think about buying a new printer. Sorry.

Perhaps the heads need cleaning or, are you using Epson cartridges, or compatible. Did the printer run through its re-inking process when you put the new cartridge in

You should have a nozzle cleaning utility that you can invoke to clean the ink nozzles. Sometimes you need to run it multiple times.
