I have read/heard that some plastics release toxins when frozen, so I would not recommend it. Ice cube trays would be safer since they were made specifically for freezing. When the food is frozen, you can empty the tray into a freezer bag and make more and then go back to using your trays for regular ice for awhile (after a real good washing of course).

i wouln't however your baby will not die like some people are telling you. Good Lord People.
It is just more practical to use the ice cube trays and easier to get out. I use them and then we they are done freezing I put them in a plastic baggy!

Check out what carcogens (sp???) are used in that type of plastic first. Some contain real nasty stuff. I'd be more inclined to use the glass jars that baby food comes in - you could sterilise those easily too.

I would definitely keep it covered by some means of a freezer friendly packaging. I would probably not reuse the store bought food packaging.

It sounds like a good and practical idea to me! Just don't fill them too high as the contents will probably expand a little.

yes, this is an excellent idea for re-using an already manufactured item! Good for you! Just make sure you rinse them in a bleach solution to sterilize them.
