Since only women can do this, I was wondering what your opinion of it is?

I sincerely apologize to all you for my typo. Yes it must have been an unintentional Freudian slip.

"public breast feeling" well... I can see how that would be awkward. I think a public banning of it would surprise most women enough to make doing it a statement or taboo.
If you meant breastfeeding, then I could see how it might be uncomfortable for a guy to feel like he's being flashed by a random stranger. However, that's not why a woman is breastfeeding in public. She has a hungry baby who will not understand why he/she has to wait to be fed.
Its nice when a mother uses a blanket or towel to cover herself while feeding her child, but many new moms find it difficult to juggle a hungry infant, shirt, bra, and blanket -if she remembered to bring one. Its easy to forget after diapers, wipes, etc.
Frequently people comment that a woman should just use a bottle while out in public, but some babies refuse to drink from bottles. To actually ban breastfeeding in public would place undue hardship on moms as they would have to completely center their lives around their baby's ever changing schedule or have their baby scream until they could find someplace private to feed him/her.
So yeah, public breast-feeding is generally considered impolite and kinda freaky by the young single population, but it is also generally accepted as part of life by many of those with kids. As long as the mom is considerate of those around her, I don't see a problem.

Banned and prosecuted? Are you serious? How would anyone justify prosecuting a woman for feeding her baby? You would expect a parent be prosecuted for denying their child food right? Well, that is what would happen if you bad breastfeeding. The mother would be denying her child the food s/he needs. You can't tell a hungry infant "Sorry, Mommy has to wait to feed you till we're home."

To the person that suggested using a bathroom stall: that is just disgusting. What would you say if I told you that YOU had to eat in a public bathroom?

To the person that made the idiotic comment about just using a bottle: two words for you dear, nipple confusion. A lot of women EXCLUSIVELY breast feed. No bottle feedings whatsoever. Its not like you can just switch between breast and bottle at the drop of a hat. That can hinder breast feeding.
Best of luck, all!

Talk about ridiculous Why would you want to ban and prosecute breast feeding?

I'm not in favor of just popping one out in public to feed....but I've breastfed 4 children in public and no one knew. They might have suspected, but that's it. There is such a thing as being discreet.

HOWEVER, I can't count the number of times some guy has lingered and peeped around the corner, trying to get a glimpse of something.....just like a 10 year old boy...and these were grown men in business suits. Crazy..you'd think they'd never seen a breast before.

Would you rather have a bunch of screaming, squalling babies who need feeding???

Besides, why in the world would a part of the body be "obscene or vulgar"? I just don't get it. People are so stupid. Worry about things that REALLY matter.

No it shouldn't be banned or prosecuted. However, I can't agree with the arguement that it's a natural process so why not do it in public..... SEX is a natural process too, but I wouldn't want to see it in public. Of course before there were bottles women breastfed, but I dare say they went to Target in ye ole 1840 and "whipped it out". No, most of the time they stayed home anyway, so when the baby needed fed, no one was around to see anything.

Again, I have nothing against bfing. I have kids. I'm not a bfer..... I don't care if you do it or not..... the arguement for nursing in public bothers me more than anything. YES it's natural.. but so other things that shouldn't be seen in public. I just think there needs to be a better arguement than "It's natural." So is vaginal child birth, but how many of you want to do that at the mall?

Absolutely not. I mean, I think a women can drape a blanket over her shoulder if she wants to, but this is a natural way of feeding a baby, this is what boobs are actually for. Anyone looking upon this in disgust, should maybe rethink things. You have a choice to look away, but a women's breast fills up with milk naturally any time anywhere, and you can't predict a baby's hunger. Easier said then done with the breast pump. Get over it people, its not sexual, its maternal. If it bothers you, look away. Prosecuted!! are you kidding me, its not like a woman is whipping it out and shoving it your face, there is a purpose, and it is not a sexual thing, it is feeding a hungry baby!!!!

The breast replaced into designed to feed infants and youthful infants, present day way of existence has sexualized the breast. it somewhat is perplexing how a sophisticated society like the united states would have certainly one of those situation with a mom feeding her baby. Sending a mom outdoors or to a germy bathing room is barbaric. I blame the formulation businesses, many mothers have self belief that breastfeeding is shameful or 'decrease type' while it somewhat is somewhat the alternative. Breastfeeding is appropriate for infant, appropriate for mom and should not be tagged as something to be ashamed approximately.

hehe. Was that a Freudian slip (feeling instead of feeding?) FEEDING should not be banned, but women should be aware of their environment and use appropriate concealment. Public FEELING is not widely practiced by females so a law would seem unnecessary.

I think under a blanket is fine, but if she just pulls out a bare breast and starts feeding then I think that is rude. So to answer the question there's no need to prosecute anyone because that would be stupid... But I do believe every woman should becareful what they flash.

Wow, that would be the most outrageoud thing I've ever heard of if they start prosecuting women for feeding their babies in public. What needs to happen is for laws to be put into place to deal out stiff penalties for people with a puritanical disdain for all that is natural and good about being human.

Are you trying to start a debate because you just did :) It should absolutely not be banned. It is a natural thing and that is what breasts were made for contrary to some peoples beliefs. Why should my child have to starve when we are out and about when everyone else gets to stop at a McDonalds? It can be done discreetly while in public
