As others have answered, it is the middle number in a set of numbers. But what if there is only an even set of numbers? Then you get the middle two numbers, you add them, then you divide by two and that would give you the median in an even set of numbers.

Example: 1,2,3,4.

Get "2" and "3", you add them together wich gives you "5". Now divide "5" by "2". Which would give you "2.5", this would be your median.

It's what everyone else said but remember to put all of the numbers in order first

For example, a set of [5,4,8,9,2,1] would become

[1,2,4,5,8,9] so 4.5 would be the median.
