One and one half of yoru total physical memory is usually fine some people prefer double but it's probably not needed.

Windows managed Virtual Memory will end up being all over the drive. Go in and set it to 1 or 2 Gb. It will be in one chunk that way and your system won't suffer in performance like it would when windows manages it.

I have done this on my own after windows managed it. Look at Defrag and see what it is like, analyze the disk first. If it's in pieces, set it up yourself. Windows isn't that great you know.
