I live in Minneapolis and cross that bridge both ways a couple of times a week. We have a number of bridges here in the Twin Cities just like it. And no. I am not afraid to cross any bridges. Are you afraid to fly? There have been more airplane accidents than bridges collapsing. Are you afraid to drive? Look at all the fatal car accidents that happen on a day-to-day basis. It is truly sad here in Minneapolis, to think what happened to those poor victims. And to know it could have been you had you left a little later, a little sooner, or just been the victim of fate. However, what happened was more of a fluke than anything. And you can't live your life avoiding life. It is what it is. Don't let one tragic incident ruin it for you.

I've always hated bridges, but this has made it only worse. I have to cross a river on a bridge that's under construction right now. It's always been a scary bridge and is only worse right now. But I can't stop living just like when the towers came down. I never liked tall buildings either, but I can't avoid them.

No, because millions of people cross bridges every single day. If you look back in history, the number of people killed in a bridge accident is pretty small when you compare that number to the number of people who use a bridge daily.

I would say the odds of this happening to you are like winning the lottery while being attacked by a shark while being hit by lightening.

Oh heck yeah! Who wouldn't? Well, if those people aren't scared, they are crazy in their minds! I heard bridges can collapse because of high winds! It's true! Look up Tacoma Narrow Bridge! That scared the heck out of me! I don't do roller coaster either!

I won't stop crossing them, but it ddoe smake me alittle more nervous then I usually am, they are rare, but serious, and it just goes to show it does happen. I have to cross the peace bridge going into Canada almost every week now, and sometimes the grand island bridge, I don;t like it but we gotta get there somwhow, hopefully it will never happen to me in my lifetime.

No.....I'm more scared getting into my car everyday when I drive to work. Much more likely to get in a regular car accident than you are to die in a bridge collapse. This thing has so many people shaken up but it's pretty ridiculous. 6 people die when a bridge collapses and the nation blows up.....at the same time someone dies in a car crash about every 10 minutes.......

Yeah I only have to cross small ones too.
I believe if I had to cross a huge bridge like the one that fell, I would be looking for a alternative route for quite sometime.

Yes every time I crossed the GG Bridge( or any other) in my lifetime , I think of exactly what happened in Minneapolis. It is purely a matter of physics and gravity. Same with elevated freeway ramps, elevators, or any other tall structure.
