I would. I generally feed mine twice a day. For one feeding they get 4 betta pellets, and the other they can have more pellets, frozen bloodworms, brine shrimp, daphnia, or live mosquito larvae.
You should be able to tell by the curve of their stomach if yours are getting enough to eat - you want the belly to be slightly rounded. See the photos in this link: http://www.bettatalk.com/food.htm

If it has massive fancy fins, that's male. women are frequently bought in a cup categorised lady, they have not got very great fins. they're frequently approximately 6 months while bought in shops. it may take a week or 2 for a betta to settle into its new abode, Im guesing you probably did no longer flow or acclimate him? provide him time and peace and somewhat, keep noise interest and easy-weight at a minimum. Bettas are very hardy and he would desire to recover from the tranission, and the cramped grimy circumstances of the cup. For a million male or a million lady betta, 5 Gallons minimum Is the minimum tank length. by using fact bettas are tropical fish and require a competent temperature that doesn't shift. A 5 gallon is the smallest tank which would be made good for tropical fish. they opt for a comfortable filter out. gravel or the different substrate, it is not correct. yet much less gravel, and gravel that has smaller products, is less demanding to bathe. you opt for an adjustable heater and mercury thermometer to maintain the temp between seventy 8-80 two. it would be appropriate to function the betta to room temperature water after floating it in a bag for 30 minutes. Then turn the heater on on the backside putting, and raise it a sprint extra on a daily basis, so his transition to a healthful heated tank isn't too unexpected. they're carnivores, they opt for a form of ingredients, Betta pellets or flakes, frozen brine shrimp and blood worms, freeze dried blood worms... feed what it may eat in 3 minutes as quickly as an afternoon, or in a million.5 minutes two times an afternoon, 5-6 days a week. get rid of uneaten foodstuff afterwords. persist with stay or silk vegetation, and comfortable decorations a bettas gentle fins can tear tear somewhat. use a gravel vacuum to get rid of 15-25% of the water on an identical time as gently sifting by the gravel as quickly as a week. replace the water with new water that has been dealt with with dechlorinator or a dechlorinating rigidity coat product. The temperature of the hot water would desire to be as on the fringe of temperature of the remaing tank water as a risk.

You could feed 4-5 pellets a day and be fine. I wouldn't do any more than that though. Feed more than 4-5 a day and you will have water quality issues.

I think fish are just greedy, They have been known to eat and eat till they explode . Just keep at what your doing ,
I've had my beta for a year and sometimers he's aggresive about his food and sometimes he's not
It's just a personality thing in my opinion

their main diet is flakes.
you can give them pellets but they don't really like it.
Once in a while you can give them frozen bloodworms or live brine shrimp. They love it.
