Why has the pentagon footage of 9-11 never been given to the public?

The Pentagon has cameras everywhere. The explosion at the pentagon on 9-11 has been shown, but they [the US gov] start the footage just after the impact. We never see exactly what hit the Pentagon. They could show us exactly what hit the pentagon, but they don't. Why doesn't the gov show us what hit the Pentagon? Don't we have the right to know?

The question is why has the Pentagon not shown us the footage? They have a crystal clear shot. Not eye witnesses (who are often wrong) Not something from down the block from a gas station. The US government has the footage. Why are they not showing it to the us Americans, the people that they work for. Where is the footage?

FOIA requests have been made and argued in court about those tapes. The government simply refuses to give them up. Normally a criminal investigator and prosecutor would have easily been able to work with police to gather hard evidence in a crime. Video footage is as hard as evidence can get. But as you can see from the responses, people believe hard evidence to be what the media says and what eye witnesses with different stories say. They believe that this is enough evidence to conclude that a "plane did it, and that's all I need to hear" than actual video footage being hidden by the government that can easily verify such a conclusion. It is these notions as to why 9/11 will never be solved. What a slap in the face to the victims.

With the government hiding those tapes without valid reason, how could someone not suspect something funny is going on? Only people with a planted idea in their minds that government would never hurt its people or cover-up its actions would not suspect government hiding tapes as suspicious activity. What's really wierd is that in their daily lives suspicion in similar situations would come naturally!

All I'm saying is not to jump to conclusions but to examine the hard evidence and then draw a conclusion - this is what criminal investigators do for a living! I won't draw a conclusion until the government releases those tapes...until then I will "SUSPECT" them as covering-up a crime.

Surveilance cameras run at fairly low speeds, just a frame or few a second, sometimes even less. The frames released show the impact, it's just that the impact happened in much less than a second so wasn't captured (at least, wasn't captured very well). It's entirely possible that no better images exist.

There also might be security concerns in 'giving away' the coverage, positioning, frame rates, and so forth of any cameras acutally used in Pentagon security.

I was about 1/2 to 3/4 of a mile from the Pentagon and I SAW A PLANE hit the Pentagon. i have said this at least 25 times.
We need to move on. Would these questions still be asked if Your Clinton had been in office at the time?

I don't need to see the video. I live about 3 miles from the Pentagon in Arlington, and work in Crystal City about a mile from the Pentagon, and drive on I-395 every day, I could see the pentagon, and I know a plane hit it. There is no cover up or conspiracy.

People saw the plane. So, why not the video? We have tons of video of the World Trade Center. Where is the pentagon video?

The government will never show us this footage because then we will know a little too much.Everything in America is designed to seem so secretive.If they told us everything we wouldn't need them for answers.Truefully I think it was all a lie.Someone was probaby paid to hit the pentagon with a fake foreign object.

I think the rest of us know it was an airplane. It seemed to be in plain sight on the ground, all broken up and burning. Do you think some other object hit the Pentagon, that the conspirators quickly hauled it away, and then brought in a flaming airplane in its place??

of course we do , there are hundreds of reports , photos , and eye witnesses that show what happened . If they showed these cameras you say have captured the event , then you would want the body parts from passengers , it will never end .
