I think you should use Ellie Mae since your spelling of Eleanor just looks so WRONG. But the name is GREAT!

BTW, contrary to the poster above, most people have no issues with folks who use names from movies. Heck, my name was popularized by an evil Stephanie on a soap opera. Before that, I was always the only Stephanie in whatever school system I happened to be in.

Love it, but I'd spell it Eleanor Mae. Ellie Mae is very Beverly Hillbillies, though. Nellie Mae would be cute.

I think its pretty but let your child be special and give her a different spelling than her great grandmother! Eleanor or Elinore or something I don't know but I LOVE Mae-- that was my grandmothers middle name too, and it will be a part of my daughters name (if its a girl)

If you're going to call her Ellie Mae, then name her Ellie Mae, don't name her something that you're never going to call her. Good luck

Please don't use that! When I'm trying to think of good names for people I try to if they would like it or not. No offense or anything but Elanor Mae just sounds kind of embarrassing.

I don't like it being shortened to Ellie.... If she goes by her full formal first name (and are you really going to spell it Elanor???) the I say go for it!
