Yes, Roy will still be the favorite.
The expectations are too high for Calvin Williams. He's late into camp already.
A very good rookie wide receiver is lucky to pull in 700 yards and a hand full of scores. Expect Calvin to beat that, but 1) It's Detroit, 2) Mike Williams and Charles Rogers were supposed to do the same thing, 3) It's Detroit.
I think Calvin will have a nice season, but not a Randy Moss kind of year. Expect something more like what Roy Williams did his first year. 850 yards, 6 TDs.

I am not sure any of these other people that have answered so far know exactly who they are talking about. Calvin Johnson is far from a selfish player that might not be that good. Fact is, he is one of the best wide recievers to come out of the draft in years. He played on a run first team that had a mediocre QB in college and still prevailed to show his athletic abilities. Detroit made a great choice on him and took the best player in the draft. Now, Roy Williams is a Number 1 reciever in his own right and i dont see Calvin just stealing the show. But what i do see is a Marvin Harrison, Reggie Wayne combination with these two and it might be the year that Detroits offense gets back on track, barring Kevin Jones/Tatum Bell plays well. So my answer is, they both will be top recievers and it should be a good show to watch with Martz calling plays! By the way, Indy Colt fan all the way, could care less about Detroit, just an FYI.

Well, you have to remember that Roy Williams (ever since Texas) has been a bit injury prone, unlike Calvin Johnson. And the thing with Calvin Johnson is that he is so big, strong and fast that (aside from injury) it's almost impossible for him to not be great. Roy Williams is a very good wide receiver in his own right, but Calvin Johnson has the potential to be the second best receiver in history. You have to remember that while Roy Williams had Chris Simms throwing to him in college, Calvin Johnson had Reggie Ball... so with that being said, as good as Calvin Johnson was in college, he'll be even better as a pro (which is very rare) because he'll have competent QBs throwing to him at the NFL level.

The Sporting News rates Williams as the # 10 WR and Johnson as # 20. In a mock draft they have Williams going with the 29th overall pick, with Johnson going at # 63 overall.

good chance AFTER this year Calvin could take over as the #1, but for now that's Roys spot. He knows the offense and is a seasoned veteran.

Roy Williams is still the man in Detroit. It usually takes a 1st year player a year or two before they are really good.

Yes Williams will be the #1 for this year. Johnson will still be learning the NFL plus he may not be that good at all. He did get shut down by some alright corners in college (Oliver and Weddle). Weddle isn't a corner he is a safety.
DA ERASER AKA REGGIE NELSON

you KNOW Roy will get the ball, he's proven.
Calvin MIGHT get the ball. Lions have talent they don't have to rely on the Rookie
