I'd keep the ball and wait for offers from Barry Bonds and the Giants. Ca$h + perks!!!!!
1. 2008 Season Tix to the Giants for a suite with parking in the player parking lot. (Barry will definitely be traded or retired)
2. 25% all expenses paid (by the Giants) away games where I choose.
3. Autographed baseballs, authentic game jerseys, photos, cleats and bats from Barry Bonds.
4. Cash stipend from the Giants as collateral for me returning the ball to them.
That's about it.....

I hate Barry Bonds and everything he represents in the game of baseball. He's a surly cheat. That being said, you would have to be crazy to not cash that ball in. That is life-changing money and taking the high ground will not pay the bills. Plus, from what the speculators are saying, the value of that ball will drop the longer you hold it. I would make the ball my lottery ticket and head to Hawaii for a vacation.

I'd auction it off, with a Buy It Now for Barry of a couple million dollars.
Hey, I love baseball and am all about the tradition and all, but I'm not about to pass up that kind of a payday that would set me for life. It'd be a blessing from God.
Besides, throwing it back would get you on SportsCenter for about 30 seconds and maybe MAYBE somebody in your section would buy you A beer. Or just handing it back or trading it for some autographed items would be missing out on a potentially huge financial windfall.
Barry's made PLENTY of money in baseball. He can give throw the dog a bone.

Am I the only one right here who isn't chilly-hearted? i'd supply the ball back to Bonds. no one outdoors of San Francisco likes him, yet he's finished a impressive activity decrease than the gun this 12 months. he's enjoying nicely in spite of this grievance. Oh, and choose I remind all and sundry that he hasn't examined beneficial for steroids? would you accuse somebody like Mo Vaughn (if he have been nevertheless enjoying) or David Ortiz, of taking steroids? No. Bonds is merely getting all this crap from the media because of the fact he's chasing historic previous. Face it, you merely hate Bonds because of the fact he's going after the all time HR checklist and you do no longer choose him to get it. i'm in all likelihood the only non-San Franciscan who likes Bonds. and that i stay close to l. a., that's residing house of the Dodgers, Bonds' team's variety-one rival, who somewhat hates him. i in my opinion understand Bonds for what he's finished for the sport and that i'm hoping he breaks the all time checklist. He relatively merits it, enormously considering the fact that all and sundry has given him all this crap because of the fact they do no longer decide to be certain Aaron's checklist get beat. cope with it!!! Alex Rodriguez is going to break it interior the destiny besides. that is inevitable. Why supply Bonds a stressful time while A-Rod is gonna come away with it on the tip besides? he's gonna retire the two this 12 months or next 12 months. enable the guy circulate out in a real blaze of glory. And all you people who hate him? you do no longer in all likelihood hate him. You all say you will sell the ball for money. Why would you sell the ball in case you do no longer care related to the guy who hit it in any respect? have confidence me, you relatively do no longer hate him, you merely do no longer decide to settle for the reality that he's gonna smash Aaron's checklist interior the subsequent month, even however A-Rod's gonna smash it in 6-8 years. decrease Bonds some slack. i'm no longer gonna be waiting to capture the ball, yet i would not think of two times approximately giving it back to him.

I doubt very highly that Bonds would sign it.
Without much of a doubt, I too would sell it, but not on ebay, that's what places like Christies is for.
I absolutely would not return it to Bonds, the Giants (or whatever home team) or MLB. They all have too much money and when the guy who caught McGwire's ball wanted to meet with him, the Cardinals said something like 'we don't negotiate until we get the ball'.
The only organization that may ever have a chance at a reduction is the hall of fame.
I think I would put a minimum bid on it though, if it doesn't fetch something that would change my life, I would keep it.
If for whatever reason Bonds wanted to buy it, I would make it contingent on him telling the whole story, so that wouldn't happen.

Take it to the nearest Bank, Rent a safe deposit box and watch as the brokers raise the price over the next few months and then sell to the highest bidder after I spit on it.

I would run to the nearest exit and get to my car as fast as I can, knowing how much it is worth.
I would then bring it home and let it sit in the toilet for a few hours so it will gain it's true worth and wait for the highest bidder.

I would offer to sell it to Barry for a lot of money. If he did not want to spend the money, then I would sell it to the highest bidder.

Bring on the negativity, but I'd take it and sell it. I bet that baby would bring in a nice finders fee.
I'd like to see any of these "throw it back" or "destroy it" people actually do it knowing full well that they were holding at least 6 figures in their hands. Never happen, heck you could donate half the procedes to steroid awareness and funding research for better testing to help you sleep at night.
