I've know a child (11 years old ) whose arm was broken by a swan when he accidentally got near its nest. They can be vicious.

Swans are the most vicious little f'ers! I don't know anyone that got their arm broke but I have been attacked by a swan, and know many others who have.
I had to pass this pond on the way to work after I got off the train and they would chase us every day.

The thyroid gland is situated at the front of the throat, below the Adam’s apple. It comprises two lobes that lie on either side of the windpipe, joined in front by an isthmus. No but my two eldest boys were chased by one once - she was protecting her young and so was I so *I* would have won out!
