My theory is based on the following
Census stats show that black women have higher obesity rates than white women
Black women have higher disability rates than white women.
Just speaking on personal experience: white women are more passive and supportive.
So that's my theory about why white men and black women don't mix. anybody have any input?

I should point out that I am speaking generally about white men.
Urban Cowboy: your answer is irrelevent as this question has nothing to do with education levels.

sone: statistics also show that it is a very real thing that white men and black women don't marry as often as blackmen/white women.
You are saying that looks don't have to do with it.... So what does that say about the personality of black women if white men don't want to be with them?

I've gotta say, I'm shocked by the vitrolic reaction that this topic has generated.
I get accused of being too general, and then a few women claim that since they are attractive it ruins my theory (btw that is them being too general).
I've got people questioning my source.... when it is the USA census for pete's sake.
and then I've got the folks out there w/ their head in the sand pretending that white men/black women is a common thing.
Let's put the cards on the table: some people are angry because I brought up a topic about race.
I truly believe that this country would be much better off if every topic about race didn't turn into a topic about racism.

Looking at this as a whole, I think it's a bit presumptuous to say white men are not attracted to black women. As far as obesity is concerned, I can agree with this a bit more willingly. Disability wise, I have not a clue.
Regarding your personal experience: I'd really like to know how large your sample was to make this assumption. I wouldn't say I'm passive (IMHO, No one should be), but nor am I aggressive. I'm big on communication and I like to talk things out. I add what I have to add and I'm done! I'll listen to your rebuttal, but I will stand firm on my belief if you present a weak argument. As far as support is concerned, I will support you to any point short of stupidity. Say for instance my white significant other aspires to be a career bank robber. Do I stand by him just because he's my SO? No way, that's absurd!
The bottom line is, not everybody is going to like everybody regardless of skin color. We are all different for a reason which makes life so wonderful and cruel all at the same time. We still have a long road to travel across the color lines before they truly become blurred, but were making progress as new patterns emerge daily. I say to go with your heart and not what a census says. When all is said and done, what does this "theory" accomplish? More preconceived notions! The U.S. in its entirety has the highest obesity rate, African Americans are included in that already.

Firstly, statistics are unreliable. They can be made to reflect either positively or negatively on any group of people and to show results that are merely what the statisticians want us to think. There is no way of knowing whether or not statisticians, or those who have statisticians "on their payroll", are biased. Furthermore, statistics don't take all factors into account.
Obese? Disabled? According to who/what? The bogus little chart that says Michael Jordan is overweight? The white dominated fields of psychology and medicine?
''Just speaking on personal experience...'' ----Exactly...YOUR experience. Your experience (or anyone else's) doesn't tell us anything about entire groups of people.
"So that's my theory about why white men and black women don't mix." ----I'm glad that you called this a theory; because you've done nothing more than post a conjecture which is based upon stereotypes, your experience (supposedly), and inconclusive information.
To assume that white men and black women "don't mix" is abstract reasoning and a gross generalization. Your supposition is proven false by the existence of just one such couple.

I can tell you as a black woman who has dated white men, they don't ask black women out not because they are not attracted but because it is a known fact that the majority of black women do not date outside their race and feel offended when a white man tries to ask them out. It's has nothing to do with what you stated (which I question is based on what?). I'm a size 12 and white guys ask me out all the time. They are all educated (like me), good looking (like me), but I say no because already have a wonderful white guy that I'm already engaged to.
Further more I want to say that not ALL black women are domineering. I know plenty of domineering and dare I say it overbearing white women who treat the men in their lives horribly, so you cannot say that it's because of this image that has been conjured up by the media and black men who date outside thier race and use that lie as an excuse because they are ashamed to say that they date outside their race because they don't like what they see when they look in the mirror, and think that by dating white or having children by a white woman will in some way make them accepted by white society or in general white.

Your question is TOO general. I'm a black girl who dates white guys, so your "theory" is no longer one. And all men are different, white or black, and there is no way to tell you why SOME of them chose not to date a black woman. *u*

Im attracted to men of all types of ethnicities, so people who say black women don't like white men need to re-think that...
white men don't like black women cause of the stereotypes put on black women especially through hip hop and i kinda agree with your so-called theory. unfortunately people don't realize that there are sophisticated black women who have education and are well independent. Everyone think all black women are ghetto whores who are broke....just simply don't go to the ghetto areas..
Well where i come from in africa it's very different cause white men like black women....
In other cases people don't want their kids looking mixed. Some prefer them to stay their full skin color...theres more to a person than there skin color
It's sort of like asking why arab men aren't attracted to east asian women...[i think]

Well maybe you should ask the numerous white men that practically breaking their necks to do a double take when I walk by. I can't even get on the elevator at my job without some white man breaking their neck to stare. So I don't know what you're talking about.

I'm black and my boyfriend is a white German guy who adores me. We have a great relationship and help each other out a lot. Race is never an issue to us.
What does obesity and disability have to do with this?

Em, PLENTY of white men are indeed attracted to black women, and I see such couple in my area EVERYDAY. I have dated a handful of white men (who Im guessing wont be with me if they didnt find me attractive). Why would they take my pictures and hang my pictures on their walls and car dashboards if they didnt find me attractive? Your theory is whack, and for the most part, there are MORE white men who find black women attractive, than black women who find white men attractive.
