With their infernal racial set-asides, racial quotas, and race norming, liberals share many of the Klan's premises. The Klan sees the world in terms of race and ethnicity. So do liberals! Indeed, liberals and white supremacists are the only people left in America who are neurotically obsessed with race. Conservatives champion a color-blind society based on merit NOT skin color.

Divide and conquer. By separating us into little 'groups' (by color in this instance) the Libs can perpetuate the myth that people of color are at a disadvantage (even WITH affirmative action). Libs can't win without 'victims' to 'defend'. That is why they keep telling blacks/hispanics that we NEED TO lower the bar for you (because we know you're not nearly as capable as your WHITE counterpart). You don't have to work as hard (get a 2.0 GPA and we'll give you 'preference' over a 4.0 whitey........

If Libs actually admitted minorities are actually capable of equal or surpassing 'whitey' they'd lose their victims......and votes.

I agree. Whenever anything happens, completely unrelated to race, it is generally the liberals....i.e. Jesse Jackson, Charlie Rangle, Al Sharpton trying to make it into a racial issue. I see people on YA a lot of times calling republicans racist, and they believe the liberals do so much for the black Americans, but they don't. Whatever happened decades ago has little to do with how people feel today.

I think that racial inequality is still a very important issue in this country, and one that liberals still embrace. It's all and good to say that everyone has the same opportunity to succeed in America, but the facts show otherwise. Someone growing up in "The Projects" or ghetto (typically minority population) do not start off life with the same opportunities and benefits of someone growing up in a white middle-class suburban neighborhood. Not only do they have to contend with a sub-par education system typically, but they must survive all of the negative elements of living in that environment as well - drugs, alcoholism, gang violence, single parent homes, ect. So the parity isn't there...and that's why many liberals support programs like Affirmative Action. If you find ways to break the cycle of poverty, the hope is that it will snowball into community and racewide change.

This coming from a WASP!

Thankfully there are white people who CAN see the inequality in the U.S. and have taken a stand to make improvements!

How much involvement did you have in which nationality you were born into?

NONE!

You can try to convince yourself there is an equal playing field in 2007 America.
Truth is it's better than was in the past but still not anywhere near equal!

I think Affirmative Action is a pretty good example of this.

EDIT - To the guy who says rich = conservative and working class = liberal - Hollywood is one of the richest places in the world and it's liberal as anything can be. There are plenty of people with money on both sides of the fence. Just as there are plenty of working class citizens on both sides of the fence.

Who knows? I just received a message from some fool (a liberal. are you shocked?) telling me that liberals helped with the civil rights era. I calmly explained to him that I know this already and I am genuinely grateful.

However, the liberals of the today can't hold a candle to the liberals of the 50s. They have been hijacked by extreme left nut jobs who took the fight for civil liberties and turned it into all out SOCIALISM!

Sorry, this black woman ain't having it! I could never be a liberal.

Ever.

Cons arent color blind, they just see things in terms of how green you are.

But again--your attack is a pointless blanket statement that only applies to the extremists.
