I haven't seen any compelling reasons to upgrade yet. If you happen to have a game that requires DirectX 10 or an application that is only compatible with Vista, go for the upgrade. If you don't, stick with XP as Vista doesn't have any "must have" features. If you do feel compelled to upgrade, wait until at least SP 1 is released to let any bugs shake themselves out.
goldenfootball12 - Vista does not give you performance improvement over XP unless you are also improving your hardware (adding more RAM, faster processor, faster disk, etc...). If anything, Vista is slower due to higher system requirements. It only seems faster because vendors are using newer/better components to meet those requirements.

It depends, if you switch to Vista then you will have a lot of extra time on your hands because it is able to get things done better and faster while enjoying a 21st century operating system. But if you want program capabilities say with XP.
