I would live with a Germanic tribe in Ancient History, maybe the Holy Roman Empire. Why? Because they're my ancestors.

I'm working on a re-enactment character...an Irish apothecary's daughter having immigrated to America and becomes a Civil War nurse. She would have been born about 1845...which is perfect because I actually have an ancestor born about that time, her first name is my middle, and she's Irish, so for my character I borrowed her last name 'cuz mine's German. Why? Because I know more about the years before and after the Civil War than I do my own century's history. And because it was a better time to live.

Ancient Rome, during the reign of a good emperor like Augustus, Hadrian, or Trajan...not Nero or Caligula or the like. They had modern conveniences like running water, and baths. I'd love to have attended gladiatorial fights in the Colosseum, or watched races at the Circus Maximus.

I would want ot go back to Ireland, Scotland, The Norse Lands, or even England any where from about the 17th century back. because life was so much simpler and easier back then. we've made life so damn hectic and complicated in this the "modern" age with all of our new technology and s**t. plus I love the fashion and way of life from that date or area backwards! I know I'm weird! :)

New York City circa late 1800's, I love the fashions of the time and maybe I could be a prostitute or something, a really high priced one for politicians and other high ranking men of society.

Rome at the peak of the empire, obviously only if I was of high standing in the society. Maybe a member of the senate, or in charge of one of the armys. This period of time just facinates me, and I would love to have experienced it first hand.

I'd like to live in ancient Israel in King Solomon's time. It'd be interesting to see what the temple looked like.
