If the Earth stopped rotating around its usual axis, and started rotating around an axis that passed through Miami, at noon in Miami, the seasons would be totally different.
At noon in Miami, the Sun would be more or less overhead, so the Earth's new axis would point fairly near to the Sun. This means the Earth's axis would be tilted on its side relative to its orbit around the Sun (much like Uranus's axis is tilted).
When the north pole (Miami) was pointed at the Sun, the northern hemisphere (the region around Miami) would experience sunlight lasting about 5 months. There would be about 1 month of oscillation day and night, then 5 months of darkness in the northern hemisphere, then 1 month of oscillating day and night again. Rinse and repeat for the southern hemisphere, only in reverse.
The narrow equatorial bands (around the new equator) would have the most regular sunlight patterns.
