Where is the source that they said he is the creator? The fact is, dog fighters ARE scum of the earth. And here is a guy who has been given the world and used that power to "keep it real". F Him. He could have just gone to UFC or Boxing matches and watch people being rewarded for fighting. Oh and trust me, if a celeb gets caught raping, believe me, it will be much bigger than this. Did you forget the Kobe trial? But I don't put Kobe in the same picture as Vick. Any girl who goes into a hotel room with Kobe Brian at 2 A.M knew what she was getting into. These dogs didn't have a choice.

Hey man, dog fighting is an offense that is prosecuted all the time. It's not like this is the only time these charges have been brought before. You don't hear about those people, because convicting people for organizing dog fights doesn't usually make more than the local news. It appears to me that this is no different than one of those cases would be... only that it's a super-famous person being indicted, so the news media is covering it ad naseum. What in God's name makes you think they are picking on him b/c he is black? If Floyd Landis were black, would you think the same thing: that it was racially motivated? Why the hell are you asking this in Home > Society & Culture > Cultures & Groups > Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgendered? anyway?

The major difference between Vick's indictment for dog fighting versus a DUI, a DUI-manslaughter, assault or even rape is this: the aforementioned are usually due to a momentary lapse of judgment. Vick's dog fighting was, according to the indictment, a planned and pre-meditated venture - a business, so to speak - that spanned YEARS. He knew EXACTLY what he was doing and no doubt enjoyed it. Such unconscionable animal cruelty and abuse is so despicable it's unspeakable. To have the world on a silver platter and knowingly behave so reprehensibly.....he may as well have spit in the faces of his fans. As for the race card? Give me a break. Even Al Sharpton is showing no mercy.

The question is whether he owns the dogs in question. If he owns the dogs no crime has occurred since they are his property and he could do what he wanted to with them. Any DA who decides to prosecute in this instance should be fired immediately no questions asked. This is a free country and in a free country you have a right to do whatever with your dog as long as it does not hurt others. The dogfighting did not put any human at risk. If you do not approve of dogfighting like me you just do not attend, it is that simple.
What is scary is the number of people who are putting the life of a human before the life of dumb animals. I hope God will forgive those people. God gave humans a soul. God did not give dog's a soul any more than He gave your pet roach a soul. Next thing you know it will be against the law to step on a roach. Think about it awhile!!!!!!!.
Another question. Why was this question posted in the gay site?

Surely you know how they EXECUTED dogs that didn't perform well? Because they weren't naturally vicious enough? Because some only want love and affection like most dogs instead of fighting to the death?
Electrocution, choking, slamming them against the ground, drowning...
It would be like electrocuting students that aren't performing well in school (if you need some kind of human example, apparently you're not very intune with animals).
He NEEDS to go to jail for what he's done. I just don't agree that he is being unfairly treated. And -I'm- FROM Virginia Beach, where this whole thing went down. It just isn't right.

I think what makes it so bad for Michael Vick to be involved with dog fighting is the fact that he has money and has no need to make money off of dogs fighting. This means he likes doing it for the sick pleasure of it. Also, he is supposed to be a role model to younger children that look up to him, that's what also makes it dispicable. The other crimes you mentioned are also heinous but I really have no tolerance for people that would hurt, torture, or kill a defenseless animal. Sorry.
P.S. it has nothing to do with him being a black male and everything to do with him being a high profile professional football player.

I think that dog fighting is despicable. But I do tend to agree with you. I think part of it is the media bias when it comes to the south. If I remember right this happened in Atlanta. What a great chance to have a story that tends to support the uppity liberal elite opinion that any thing below the Mason Dixon line is redneck country. By the way I have a cute little dog that I would not hesitate to risk my life for. What he was doing (assuming he is guilty) could only be done by a very sick person.

Obviously your not an animal lover, or have never seen the outcome of dog fights. Michael Vick personally, i think should be brutally murdered, not because he's a black man, but because of the atrocities he committed. He is also being punished harder because he is in the spot light and is a sports icon and so many people look up to him. If he is not murdered, he should have his legs forcibly removed with a power grinder.

dog fights are illegal for a good reason. that said, I do believe he is innocent until proven guilty. I am not happy with the groups hyping this up. From what I have seen so far, I feel he will be found guilty and if that happens he should be sentenced following state sentencing guidelines.

The media would have gone after anyone famous who was involved with dog fighting, leeches that they are. If he truly did it, he deserves to suffer the consequences. As for Peta, they've killed more dogs than he ever will so they're no one to talk.
