I just painted my daughter's room a few days ago and now wish I used Non-VOC paint. I've read even low-VOC can offgas for a very long time. Is this correct? Pls. help!

All paints, whether they are latex or oil based contain some volatile organic compounds (VOC). The oil based ones have substantially more.

With adequate ventillation, you should be able to use a room painted with oil based paint in 1 day. Mild odor will be noticed for several days but this is not a concern.

If you are unsure ventilate the room.

Volatile doesn't mean toxic, unless you're going with the regard that everything is poisonous if you take 50 billion of them.
Volatile just means that it is a solid or liquid that gives off a significant amount of gas at room temperature. Water is volatile.
