I have been playing about 3 years with no real guitar education, just learning from friends. Do any other guitarists find that their little finger "sticks"?. When I am playing solos and intricate stuff my little finger is always stiff and snappy and doesn't seem to co-operate. Are there any routines that I can practice to help train the little finger?

Grip Master Red
D'Addario Grip Master Red is the hand exerciser that can be used anywhere. It fits in the palm of the hand and has separate spring resistors to exercise individual fingers. Using the Grip Master will increase your hand strength for playing the guitar or any other instrument. They are even used by squash players. This is ideal to exercise the hand and can be used to build up strength in a hand with strain injury. Also good for Golf, Climbers, Baseball, Basketball, Weight lifting etc.

Just practice. Do you crack your digits a lot? That can actually hinder finger movement. Always try playing something a little simpler to get warmed up.
