Absolutely! I think it's the only issue they have. "Look how poorly Bush is running this war," and all that stuff. The economy is rockin' right along. (great recovery since the drop off after 9/11/01) The Dow keeps breaking new records. People are getting good jobs again. Tax cuts put more money in "The People's" pockets. (which, in turn, goes right back into the system when people buy goods and services) Neither party really has a solid stand against illegal immigration. Free National HealthCare is a joke that only far Lefties seem to want. The price of oil has GOT to come down, though. I say Thompson/Gingrich in '08!

So you think that someone can somehow influence events in Iraq because they want a better more accessible health care system for everyone? We picked a fight with a smaller nearly defenseless nation and now we can't even win it. What does that tell you?
All I know is that every news source I read or watch depicts a continuing war zone in Iraq that is only getting worse. I am referring to news from other countries as well as our own internal media sources. I'm not really sure how a democrat could affect the news coming out of the UK, Canada, or Australia. Open your eyes and SEE!!!

For some of the most die hard types the answer would be yes. For the more moderate types they will just say we voted for it. Either way winning is a relative term in the case of Iraq. Especially when you have the Bush administration trying to reinforce the idea that we need to remain for many years to come. While at the same time trying to convince us that we are winning. I hate to say it, but it seems to me like they (administration) do not want the war to end, but of course that is just a personal observation.
jstusucks: I hate to inject logic here, but Iraq is already a free and democratic society. Or did you miss all the TV shots of the proud purple fingers.

I would not go so far as to say they do not want to win this war. Any American should want to win this war, now or 10 years from now. If they didn't want to win the war, they'd stop funding in its tracks and start impeachment procedures.
However, military successes, or any signs that we can pull out the troops because the country can take care of itself does look bad for them when they campaign on pulling the troops out because their leadership says we're losing.

If the Republican White House had really wanted to win this war don't you think nearly 5 years was plenty of time to accomplish that?
"Mission Accomplished" was years ago and it should have been over then!

Of course. It shows how wrong they are and could hurt Hillary's election prospects. Hillary is their sweetheart.
