God created global warming.
God created global cooling.
He did these things when He set up the global climatic cycle, which cycles around the freezing point of water.
Global warming is one-half of the climatic cycle of warming and cooling.
The earth's mean temperature cycles around the freezing point of water.
This is a completely natural phenomenon which has been going on since there has been water on this planet. It is driven by the sun.
Our planet is currently emerging from a 'mini ice age', so is becoming warmer and may return to the point at which Greenland is again usable as farmland (as it has been in recorded history).
As the polar ice caps decrease, the amount of fresh water mixing with oceanic water will slow and perhaps stop the thermohaline cycle (the oceanic heat 'conveyor' which, among other things, keeps the U.S. east coast warm).
When this cycle slows/stops, the planet will cool again and begin to enter another ice age.
It's been happening for millions of years.
Humans did not cause it.
Humans cannot stop it.

Good question. There is a lot of speculation. If you look at today's arguments from the left, it would be caused by Bush and the Republicans. These people pound this idea into everyone's head, but how have Bush and the Republicans caused global warming. They have not been able to come up with anything. It's just like Bush causing Katrina, or Bush causing the tsunami.
Now, if you tried to seriously look at all the scientific evidence available, what events or series of events (man made) 'may have' caused an increase in global warming. There is the industrial revolution. There is the automobile. There is the production of plastics, chemicals, hair spray, etc. Do these factors show any link to a change in the global temp? To this day, there has been not proven link, especially when you take into account all global factors and actually look at the global history.
National Geographic, one of the worlds biggest advocates for global warming, did a study a number of years ago on the polar, Antarctic ice. This was aired on television. They found that carbon levels fluctuated in cycles and temps fluctuated as well. Historicaly, carbon levels have been at much higher levels than they are today and fluctuate in cycles. They have also found that one volcanic eruption can increase the carbon levels in the atmosphere more than all the factories in the world can in a year. The factory output is actually a small fraction of the gasses produced by an eruption. They have also discovered in these studies, the world temp has extreme fluctuations every 100k years, somewhat extreme changes every 10k to 15k years (ice ages), and minor fluctuations every 150 years or so. We are currently on schedule for the 150 year cycle.
So who created global warming? Using cause and effect, we do not have the data or proof to say that someone caused global warming. Again, excellent question.

only 17 percent of scientists think global warming is man made? Where did you get this percentage exactly? From what I understand there aren't too many researchers, if any, that think the recent warming of the earth is just a natural cycle. Man made pollutants have to hold some of the reason for the recent and drastic increase in temperatures. Why do people deny the obvious...if you put enough co2 in the air and the planet can't clean all of it up, it piles up, therefore keeping heat in. I don't understand why people think this is a political issue...if anything it's a political issue because republicans are a part of and make money from OIL companies and special interest groups. I don't see democrats doing anything but saying they believe it's a real issue and they have a general interest in A) getting off foriegn oil (apparently you people don't think that's a good idea?) and B) saving people some money so they don't have to pay 3.50 a gallon everytime they fill up their cars. It's a perfect opportunity to make a change in the way we treat the environment and a way we travel in positive and much more common sense ways. If you want to just keep paying higher and higher gas prices, keep saying that there is no global warming. The only thing stopping this country from really progressing into an energy effecient era, and a more peaceful and intelligent society for that matter, are stubborn individuals who don't look at the facts, and believe nothing is wrong so their lives are not inconvenienced. Ignorance is bliss.

As I look at what I have learned in Geology, it really puts "Global Warming" in persepctive. Millions of years ago, where I am standing now (West Virginia) was about where the Atlantic Coastline stood. There is evidence in fossils, rock layers, etc. Then, there came an Ice Age which allowed for many of the mountain formations where I live to be carved out by glaciers. The land remained frozen under 100's of feet of ice for thousands of years. ALL OF THIS OCCURED NATURALLY AND WITHOUT ANY HUMAN INTERACTION.
Trying to fight "global warming" is like trying to fight continental drift. The earth has been warming at a constant rate for the last 10,000 year as were are still coming out of the last ice age. The scientists you hear whining on TV are paid to do just that. The information they are using is based on the fact that we have only recorded temperatures since the late 1800's. Scientists who have actually gone out and conducted the field research required to draw such conclustions have studied core samples from the polar ice caps tell a different story based on thousands of years of RELIABLE information. Most of them are in agreeance AGAINST the Dr. Heidi Cullen and Al Gore fanaticism.
I agree that we should take better care of our environment which is essentially only on lease to us, but don't fall victim to the hype. It will pass as the facts come out.

Mother Nature created global warming. The earth has warmed and cooled many times over its existence, even as recently as 1600A.D. It is not a man made event, the lightning strike fires in the western US will put more greenhouse gases in the air than 10-15 years of automobiles ever would.

It can't be attributed to any one individual, but the current administration has certainly not helped matters any.
The problem of global warming in real and most climate scientist believe it is a man-made probelm. I don't know where that other poster got their numbers but they are way off. It's way more than 17% that are convinced we are to blame for the recent warming trend. It's well above 70% last time I checked.
edit: There are a lot of morons posting wrong answers to the global warming question. They are problably cons. Just ignore them and research the facts on your own.

The atmosphere and the planet....
The sun hits the atmosphere. Some energy is reflected back, some stays. The energy that passes through the atmosphere hits the planet. Some is reflected back into the atmosphere, some warms the planet.
Change the content of the atmosphere, or change the surface composition of the planet, or change the sun's output -- any of these will have an effect on the net energy that remains.

Whomever pioneered the industrial revolution is to blame I guess. I think a lot of the message is just hysteria, so I blame the spokespeople for global warming for the state it's in today.
